Chicory And Dandelion root coffee (Hot or Iced)

Smooth, warm, and creamy, with a taste as delicious as chocolate, that morning cup of coffee is a comfort that many of us treasure. While some love the crazy energy high of caffeine, other’s feel jittery anxious and uncomfortable from it’s effects.

If the later sounds like you, you’re in the right place. Today I am sharing an herbal (non caffeinated) version of coffee made from chicory root, dandelion root, cinnamon, ginger, and maca. This by no means tastes exactly like coffee, however the taste and rich deep texture share similarities with coffee.

This chicory and dandelion root coffee is great both hot and cold and serves as a great replacement for coffee. Anyways I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

With love from my kitchen to yours,

Kayley

Chicory and Dandelion Root Coffee

 4 tbsp dandelion root
 4 tsp powdered cinnamon
 4 tsp powdered ginger
 2 tsp maca powder

Recipe:
1

Combine all ingredients in a blender and blend till powdered. Transfer to a jar to store, no need to refrigerate.

2

To make a cup of hot tea, place about 2 tsp of powdered tea in a 16 oz mug and fill with boiling water. Stir well, add 1/2 and 1/2 or milk if desired, and enjoy! Note the last few sips are very thick with spices so I don't recommend drinking them.
